Financial Accountant

Location: Amsterdam Zuidoost

Aim of the function

Adequate processing of the financial administration and providing support in required processing and reporting tasks.

Reports to: Finance Manager

Fulltime, 40 hours per week

Job description

- General ledger accounting, month-end closing and additional reporting
- Processing of invoices, intercompany invoicing and fixed asset accounting
- Maintaining and reconciling accounting journals, sub-ledgers, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions
- Monthly variance analysis of actual results compared to budget and previous month 
- Support with VAT and indirect tax accounting and reporting (general, not in-depth, knowledge required)
- Provide assistance in the interim and year end audits
- Preparation of monthly financial reports and reporting statistics
- Assist in all areas of accounting and compliance as requested by management
- Maintain updated documentation on accounting processes and procedures
- Support all internal control policies and procedures


Knowledge and skills

- Knowledge of SAP (ideally a must have)
- Knowledge of IFRS (must-have) and Dutch GAAP (nice-to-have)
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially with Excel
- Fluent in English (must-have) and Dutch (nice-to-have), knowledge of German is also an advantage
- Accurate, analytical and problem solving
- Good communication skills and an international mindset
- Proactive and flexible attitude
- Hands-on mentality, getting things done 
- Ability to work on detailed level, while maintaining overview on the process
- Good understanding of the internal company processes
- Interest in leadership (potential #2 material in absence of Finance Manager)


- Finance related degree Bachelor level
- 5-8 years relevant working experience.
